America's 250th | The City of Middletown and Town of Portland

The Middletown–Portland America's 250th initiative is a joint, cross-river celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Through signature events, coordinated marketing, robust storytelling, and broad partnerships, this initiative will engage residents, attract visitors, support local businesses, and leave a lasting civic and cultural legacy.

The City of Middletown and Town of Portland are combining their efforts, as they did some 50 years ago for the 1976 American Bicentennial celebration, to plan and locally implement a full year of celebrations.
