Requirements in Connecticut
- You must obtain a marriage license in the town where the marriage ceremony will take place.
- Both parties must appear in person to be sworn in and sign the marriage license.
- Both parties must present a current government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport.
If you are being married in Middletown within the next 65 days, we encourage you to use the Online Marriage Application. This is an application only - you will not actually receive your marriage license until both parties appear in our office sometime before the marriage date.
When you come to pick up your license, bring a current photo identification and cash or check for your payment.
