Press Release - Arrest of Joshua Botelho

On 09/28/2022 Joshua Botelho, 34 years of age, was arrested by warrant for violation of Connecticut General Statutes 53a-70 Sexual Assault in the 1st Degree, and 53a-96 Unlawful Restraint in the 2nd Degree.
The Middletown Police Special Investigations Unit conducted an investigation which revealed that Botelho, who was in a casual relationship with the Victim, went to the Victim’s residence. While there, Botelho allegedly forced the Victim to engage in intercourse, despite being told the Victim did not want to do so.
Botelho was arraigned at Middlesex Superior Court on 9/28/2022 and held on a $125,000 Surety Bond.
