PRESS RELEASE - SOUTH MAIN ST SHOOTING

On 10/30/22 at approximately 0130 hours, the Middletown Police responded to the report of gunshots in the area of 695 South Main Street (Midnight Hookah Lounge). On arrival officers met with security personnel who stated a disturbance had taken place inside the business and everyone was asked to leave. As the business was clearing out, personnel heard gunshots in the parking lot. Security personnel indicated that a gunshot victim had already left the scene.
 
Officers located a blood like substance in an adjacent parking lot but it appeared the involved person(s) left the area in a vehicle. A short time later, Middlesex Hospital notified the police that a 30-year-old Magdiel Rodriguez had come to the ER with multiple gunshot wounds. Rodriguez was subsequently transferred to Hartford Hospital where he is in stable condition.
