PRESS RELEASE - FRISBIE ST ARREST

On October 8, 2023 at approximately 4:15pm, Middletown Police Officers were called to the area of Frisbie Street for the report of harassment.

On arrival, Officers learned that residents of 39 Frisbie Street had been harassing employees of J. Martin Landscaping in the roadway for doing work at an area residence. The two residents, identified as 62-year-old Robert Shaw and 58-year-old Sharon Bourgeois-Williams, berated employees of the landscaping company due to the noise level of their work. In addition, they were asking employees if they had work visas and for their immigration status. The employees of J. Martin Landscaping maintained a calm demeanor and filmed the incident.

After a careful review of the video footage, the Middletown Police Department determined that Shaw and Bourgeois-Williams’ hostile behavior prevented one employee from moving freely in the roadway in violation of 53a-182; Disorderly Conduct. After consultation with the Middletown Superior Court, an arrest warrant application was submitted for both parties.

On October 12, 2023 arrest warrants were granted for Shaw and Bourgeois. At approximately 6:00pm, Shaw and Bourgeois-Williams turned themselves in on their active warrants. Both were charged with Disorderly Conduct and released on a $10,000 non-surety bond. Shaw and Bourgeois-Williams are scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on October 26, 2023 at 9:00am.
