Project Overview:

Free Center, is collaborating with local environmentalists, artists, crafters, and designers to raise awareness and further activate a consideration for the natural environment. The fashion industry is grappling with its environmental impact. Through our project, we inspire positive, healing actions for our planet. The project will unfold as follows:


November - December: We will host a series of FC Debris Couture Open Studio workshopsfocused on waste, sustainable fashion practices, upcycling, and recycling, providing participants with the knowledge and skills to create environmentally friendly clothing and accessories. Collections sites established and materials will be sorted.


January-March: FC Sustainable Trashion Open Studio Workshops: Hosted at Free Center, participants will put their newfound skills into practice, creating fashion pieces from discarded materials that have been collected in our community.


March: Free Center Open Studio The culmination of our efforts will be a design exhibition and show, where the creations from the trashion workshops will be displayed and celebrated. This event will serve as a platform to showcase the innovative designs and the importance of sustainability in fashion.


April: We will wrap up the project with the Debris Couture, Spring Collection, a collection ofsustainable and environmentally friendly fashion pieces created during the trashion workshops, (tour other municipalities/schools) Visit https://freecenter.us/debriscouture/
