On Thursday December 21, 2023, during the 241st Connecticut State Police K9 Patrol Dog Graduation Ceremony, Officer Jared White and K9 Sonny were awarded the Stephen Davis "Patrol K-9 Handler of the Year" award. The Stephen Davis Handler of the Year is a very prestigious award that is presented by the Connecticut State Police K9 Unit to three active K-9 Handlers. Awards are given based on criteria such as the handler's experience, work ethic, motivation, commitment, dedication and quality of work.
