News Release - Arrigoni Bridge Investigation

On June 10, 2024 at approximately 9:42am, Portland and Middletown officers responded to the report of a male jumping from the Arrigoni Bridge. 

On arrival, witnesses indicated that a male party parked his vehicle in an active construction area on the Portland side of the bridge and jumped over the fencing into the Connecticut River. Police were able to confirm that the male was unrelated to the construction crew on the bridge but he has not yet been identified. 

Portland Fire, Middletown Fire, South District Fire, Middletown Police, and DEEP have boats and divers in the water searching for the male.  

This active case is being investigated by the Portland Police Department with the assistance of Middletown Police. All media inquiries should be directed to Portland PD.
