News Release - Continuation of March 12, 2024 Arrest

Continuation from a March 12, 2024 news release involving an investigation into an assault of a 2 year-old child that was under the care of Kovarcik who was a teacher at the Town & Country Early Learning Center (195 South Main Street, Middletown) that began on January 12, 2024.

Further investigation into that incident by the Middletown Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit revealed several occasions when Kovarcik and Rahman, who were employed as teachers at the daycare, were observed through surveillance video mishandling other 2 year-old children under their care.   

Rahman (32) was arrested by warrant on 8/22/24 and charged with Risk of Injury to a Minor and Reckless Endangerment 2^nd degree.  She appeared in Middlesex Superior Court on 8/22.

Kovarcik (48) turned herself into the Middletown Police on 8/30/24 and charged with three counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor and three counts of Reckless Endangerment 2^nd degree.  Kovarcik was held in lieu of $30,000 in bonds and presented in Middlesex Superior Court on 8/30.
