News Release - Homicide Arrest (Amended)
On 11/4/24 Middletown Police Officers were conducting a property check at 225 River Road when they discovered the deceased body of a 67-year-old male who was later identified as Roger Davis. Due to the circumstances of the death and crime scene, the CT Chief Medical Examiner ruled this death a homicide. Middletown Police Major Investigations Unit detectives began a lengthy and detailed investigation that spanned several months. Detectives recovered physical and forensic evidence from the scene and from the body of the victim which identified Julio Wright (34 years old) of Middletown as the suspect. Detectives served multiple search warrants and secured additional evidence during this investigation which ultimately led to an arrest warrant for Wright. On 4/3/25 Wright was arrested at Middletown Court (GA9) while appearing for an unrelated case. He was charged with Murder (53a-54a(a)) and Tampering with Evidence (53a-155) in violation of the CT General Statues. Wright was held on a court set two-million-dollar bond.
Anyone with further information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Major Investigations Unit at 860 638 4140.
**An arrest is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
