February 2025 Missing Person Located

On February 25, 2025 at approximately 7:44pm the Middletown Police were called to Harbor Park, located at 80 Harbor Drive, after receiving information that a female had intentionally driven her vehicle into the Connecticut River. The vehicle, a 2016 Audi Q5, was located under water but unoccupied. Police and Fire personnel worked tirelessly to locate the female with no success.

On May 1, 2025 at approximately 6:25pm, Middletown Police Detectives were contacted by the ENCON Police Department. ENCON Officers and CT State Troopers had responded to Haddam Meadows State Park after a patron walking her dog found a female body in the river near the river bank. Middletown Detectives responded to Haddam Meadows and positively identified the female as 51-year-old Janeen Shaw of Middletown.
