News Release - Stabbing Incident on High Street

On June 26, 2025 at approximately 8:44pm Middletown Officers were dispatched to an address on Grand Street for the report of a stabbing. On arrival, Officers located a 15-year-old juvenile male victim who had been stabbed in the abdomen. The victim was transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries and he is listed in stable condition.

During the preliminary investigation, officers determined the assault occurred in the general area of High Street and Grand Street. A short time later Officers located a 16-year-old male suspect and established probable cause to arrest him for the assault. The juvenile was taken into custody and charged with Assault 2^nd Degree and Breach of Peace 2^nd Degree.

This assault was determined to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. The case is currently being investigated by the Middletown Police Major Investigations Unit. Anyone with information on this assault is encouraged to contact Detective C. Iovene at 860-638-4148.
