City of Middletown to Hold Annual Fireworks Festival
Saturday, June 28, 2025
Middletown, CT – The City of Middletown will present the annual Fireworks Festival on Saturday, June 28, 2025, with a rain date of June 29. The festival will take place along the Connecticut River at Harbor Park, and on the front lawn of the City’s Municipal Building located at 245 DeKoven Drive. The festival showcase will present a dazzling fireworks display that is set off directly from a barge on the Connecticut River.
The fireworks festival is a family-friendly event that typically draws large crowds to the downtown area of Middletown. The festival will kick off at 5:00 pm with live music, fun activities for children, and numerous food vendors throughout the beautiful harbor area and along DeKoven Drive. Fireworks will commence just after dark, at approximately 9:30 p.m. As noted above, the festival will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025. In the event of inclement weather, the festival will be rescheduled to Sunday, June 29.
As part of the festivities, the Middletown Commission on the Arts (MCA) will honor Robert “Bob” Nasta, musician, composer, educator, and advocate, with the MCA’s 2025 Music Ambassador Award—a most fitting recognition for a life dedicated to harmony in every sense. Bob will be honored at a ceremony at the Fireworks Festival at 6:00pm. Bob will be accompanied by fellow musicians and dancers.
We invite everyone to come and enjoy a safe and spectacular event. Parts of Court Street, DeKoven Drive, Harbor Drive, Dingwall Drive, MLK Way, River Road, and Eastern Drive will be closed during portions of the festival day. More details about this year’s Fireworks Festival, main stage performances, road closures, parking and viewing suggestions will be provided as the date draws closer. Please visit https://www.middletownct.gov/Arts or follow www.facebook.com/CityArtsOffice for updates on the festival, including any notices of postponement due to inclement weather.
Acting Mayor Gene Nocera commented, “We are fully ready for the Fireworks Festival, and the weather looks like it is cooperating. This is a wonderful annual event that bring the community together, and this year promises to be more exciting than ever.”
