News Release - Brooks Road Incident


On Wednesday July 16, 2025 at approximately 6:24 PM, the Middletown Police Department responded to a call for service on Brooks Road, east of Bear Hill Road, involving an individual in crisis. The initial report indicated the potential presence of a firearm, prompting officers to implement established safety protocols to ensure the safety of residents and responders in the area.

We recognize the disruption this incident may have caused and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to our community. Our primary objective was to bring the situation to a safe and peaceful resolution, which was successfully achieved.

We extend our gratitude to the Connecticut State Police – Troop F, the Middletown Fire Department, and the Eversource response teams for their assistance and professionalism during this response.

The individual involved was safely transported to Middlesex Hospital for treatment.
