News Release - Fatal Crash on Arrigoni Bridge

On August 2, 2025 at approximately 1:32pm, the Middletown Police Department was called to the Arrigoni Bridge for the report of a serious motor vehicle accident.

On arrival, Officers determined that the operator of a 50cc moped had crashed on the pedestrian walkway of the bridge. The operator, identified as 35-year-old Kristopher Hinton of Middletown, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests that Hinton was traveling too fast for the sidewalk and lost control of the moped. The Middletown Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the case. Anyone with information on the crash is encouraged to contact Officer J. Zadjura at 860-638-4063.
