News Release - Arrigoni Bridge Incident

On October 22, 2025 at approximately 9:18am, the Middletown Police received a call from a passing motorist that a male had intentionally jumped from the Arrigoni Bridge. It was originally believed that the male had gone into the Connecticut River so Middletown Police and Fire utilized their boats to check the area.

A short time later it was determined that the party had jumped from the bridge but he did not go into the river. The male was located in the area of Portland Street and transported to Hartford Hospital for his serious physical injuries. He is listed in stable condition.

This is an active investigation and the male’s name is not being released at this time. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Middletown Police at 860-638-4000.
