The heart, soul, and largest division within the Middletown Police Department is the Patrol Division. Officers assigned to this division are responsible for protecting the 42 square miles that make up the City of Middletown. These Officers keep an active watch over the city 24/7/365.


The City of Middletown is divided into six Districts and several walking beats. Officers assigned to the Patrol Division protect and serve their respective Districts through a combination of marked cars, bicycles, motorcycles, and walking beats. The Patrol Division responds to calls for service that include, but are not limited to:

  • Enforcement of state laws and city ordinances
  • Major and minor crimes
  • Investigation of traffic accidents
  • Processing and transportation of prisoners

The dedicated men and women of the Patrol Division strive to protect the lives and properties of the residents, businesses, and guests of the City of Middletown while addressing quality of life issues and working in partnership with the community.
