Environmental Health

Responsibilities

• Inspect food establishments, child day care facilities, salons, public swimming pools, and other facilities for compliance with Connecticut General Statutes, Public Health Codes, and Middletown Code of Ordinances
• Review plans and perform soil testing for septic system installation
• Tests and monitors water quality at natural bathing areas
• Investigate complaints (e.g. allegations of foodborne illness, unsanitary conditions in licensed establishments, septic system failures, well water concerns, mosquito breeding, solid waste, animals, and other environmental concerns)
