Mortgage Electronic Registration System Recordings (MERS)

Effective July 15, 2013 Mortgage Electronic Registration System Recordings (MERS)

The fees for all MERS recordings received on or after July 15, 2013 are $159 for the first page of a document. There is no additional $5 per page fee due for any MERS releases or assignments. All other MERS documents are subject to the $5 additional fee for any additional page beyond the first page. Per HB6706 Sec. 81 and 82 of CGS

Lis Pendens and Foreclosure Filing

Changes Effective October 1, 2011

All Lis Pendens filed on the land records must have the registration form filed concurrently. This registration form filing fee is $60 in addition to the Lis Pendens filing fee. If you need to change your name on a land record, you can use this form Change of Name Form (PDF) and file it with the Town Clerk's Office. This certificate only applies to change of names directly linked to real estate ownership.

As of July 1, 2011, the City of Middletown conveyance rate for residential property is .005 and the State of Connecticut conveyance rate is.0075.
