[ARCHIVED] Pumpkin Recycling

The City's Recreation Department is holding a Pumpkin Smash event on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 12 - 3pm at Veteran's Park.   Bring your old pumpkins and have fun smashing them up!

Pumpkins are a valuable resource that can be used to feed wildlife, turned into compost or used for clean energy!  Please don't put them in your regular trash can where they will be wasted at a landfill or incinerator.

Come to the Pumpkin Smash event for smashing or just to drop off.  If you can't make the event, pumpkins can be brought to the food waste drop offs at the City Recycling Center and 675 Randolph Road.  Please remove paint, candles and wax from the pumpkin prior to dropping them off.

For more ideas on how to recycle pumpkins, visit our Pumpkin Recycling Page.
