[ARCHIVED] Sanitation District Holiday Schedule

Middletown Sanitation District Holiday Service Alert

The Middletown Sanitation District will not be collecting trash and recycling on Friday, December 25, 2020 or Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.   Both trash and recycling will be picked up for Friday customers on Monday.  Both Friday and Monday customers will be picked up on those Mondays following the holidays.

Americans generate 25% more waste during the holidays. Don’t be part of that statistic!  Buy only what you need. Buy items with little or no packaging.  Reuse items as much as possible.  Skip the wrapping paper (it is NOT recyclable) or use something reusable.

The Sanitation District will only pick up the items that fit in your cart.  Excess recyclables can be brought to the Recycling Center at no charge.   Food waste can also be segregated and brought to the Recycling Center at no charge.  Food waste must be loose.  No plastic bags and containers.  Compostable bags are acceptable.

Large pieces and amounts of cardboard can be brought to the Recycling Center at no charge, along with old electronics and holiday lights.

A virtual tour on how to use the Recycling Center can be found here.

Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe.
