[ARCHIVED] City Passes Climate Emergency Resolution

As some folks know, on September 8, 2020, the Middletown Common Council unanimously approved a Climate Emergency Resolution, providing a strong foundation for the City of Middletown to respond to climate disruption. The challenge remains to put the resolution into action. Responding to the climate emergency requires the city as a whole; municipal, school, business and residential sectors, to reduce and ultimately eliminate carbon emissions, to ensure environmental, social and economic sustainability, and to address underlying equity issues so that everyone has access to the basics needed to thrive. Developing effective action and a collective response to the climate emergency needs everyone’s input, commitment and creativity. As we work to develop these actions, please add your voice to the effort so that city leadership has the support needed. You can find the Climate Emergency Resolution on the city website’s Environmental Sustainability web-page: https://www.middletownct.gov/742/Environmental-Sustainability.
