[ARCHIVED] Let's Talk Trash! City of Middletown is hosting two workshops regarding trash & recycling.

November 15 is officially America Recycles Day!

Tuesday, Nov. 15,  we will be hosting a Recycling Workshop at the deKoven House starting at 6:30 pm. with Sherill Baldwin from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).   Sherill will be discussing the state solid waste crisis, what is being done about it, what is actually happening with our recycling, and answering all your questions about what goes in the bin and what doesn’t.  It’s going to be a lively, interactive discussion!  We’ll have hot chocolate and cookies from Perk on Main.  Bring your own mug, if you can.

Thursday, Nov. 16, we will have a different presentation about the new Food Scrap to Clean Energy program in the Sanitation District.   This program will be held at 6pm at the Free Center, 52 No. Main Street.  It is primarily for Sanitation District customers, but if you are interested and don’t live in the District,  please come!  We will have free kitchen food scrap containers available for participants in the program.
