Join UConn Master Composters, Allie McConnell and Baker Salsbury, for a lively discussion about Backyard Composting at the new Middletown Composting Demonstration Garden at 131 River Road, in Middletown, on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10:00 - 11:30am. Rain Date: Sunday, Sept. 24.
The onsite demonstration will discuss the different elements of composting, demonstrate the different types of compost structures, uses for finished compost and why backyard composting is one important solution to the State’s trash crisis.
Bring all your trash related and composting questions! Free kitchen scrap collection containers will be available for participants.
All are welcome. This program is organized by the City Public Works Department in advance of the RiverCog Backyard Compost Bin and Rain Barrel Sale.
