Traffic Alert Reminder:
Friday, December 12, 2025

 
Residents, commuters, and the travelling public are advised of a series of overnight roadway closures on Route 9 Southbound at Exit 23B (DeKoven Drive) starting on or around Friday, December 12, 2025, and will be completed on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Traffic will be detoured on local roadways to Route 17 Northbound before Exit 21 (Silver Street). Please refer to the detour plan attached to this release.
  
Motorists should expect delays, allow for extra travel time  during this period due to construction activity, and should exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.  
    
This work is a part of the Reconfiguration of Route 17 On-ramp to Route 9 Northbound Project in the City of Middletown and is part of CTDOT safety improvement initiative to mitigate front-to-rear crashes at the ramp entrance to Route 9 Northbound.
