Old Maromas Cemetery has no direct access and the property that is sits on is now owned by Pratt & Whitney. This cemetery is currently not under the care of The Middletown Old Burying Ground, however we are working towards rectifying this.

The Old Maromas Cemetery, also called the Prior Cemetery, was likely established in the early-mid 1700s by the first colonial families to settle the Maromas area of Middletown. In January of 1766, Maromas’ residents petitioned for a new cemetery, thereby commencing the neglect period of their former burying ground. Today, 13 legible monuments or fragments stand at the Old Maromas Cemetery, but the total number of stones, including those that are broken, exceeds 70.
