Consumption Charges

The Water and Sewer Department bills the property owner depending on the size of your water service. Water services that are one inch and smaller are billed on a quarterly basis or four times a year. These services are typically residential but could be small commercial operations. These bills are issued on February 1st, May 1st, August 1st and November 1st of each year. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to make sure that they receive and pay their bills.  Interest will be applied to the bill if the bill is not paid by the 1st or the following month. Water services that are greater than one inch are billed on a monthly basis. These services are typically commercial accounts.

All rates listed below are effective as of July 1, 2025.

Water Use Rates - Quarterly Billing (Residential)

$3.92 per hundred cubic feet plus meter charge.

There is a minimum water charge of $32.26 which includes $19.60 for water use plus a meter charge (typically $12.66 for a 5/8-inch meter). Senior citizen discounts do not apply to minimum water charges.

Size of meter and charges (Quarterly):

  • 5/8-inch meter = $12.66
  • 3/4-inch meter = $15.81
  • 1-inch meter = $34.98

Sewer Use Rates - Quarterly Billing (Residential)

$8.39 per hundred cubic feet. There is a minimum sewer use charge of $41.95. Senior citizen discounts do not apply to minimum sewer use charges. 

For customers with "sewer only", the total due quarterly is $197.17. This is based on an average consumption of 2,350 cubic feet quarterly.

$3.92 per hundred cubic feet plus meter charge.

Size of meter and charges:

  • 5/8-inch = $4.22
  • 3/4-inch = $5.27
  • 1-inch = $11.66
  • 1-1/2-inch = $19.27
  • 2-inch = $26.55
  • 3-inch = $42.02
  • 4-inch = $74.12
  • 6-inch = $135.72
  • 8-inch = $216.53

Sewer Use Rates - Monthly Billing (Commercial)

$8.39 per hundred cubic feet.  There is a minimum sewer use charge of $41.95.

Senior Discount Available

Seniors can get a discount on their sewer bills.  You are eligible for a discount if you:

  • Are 62 years of age or older,
  • Own the property, and
  • Reside at the property being billed (rental properties do not qualify for a discount).

The senior discount is 15% of the actual use on the sewer portion of your bill.  No discount will be applied on a minimum bill (500 cubic feet or less).  There is no discount on the water portion of your bill.

Terms of Payment - Important Notice

Bills become delinquent 30 days past the due date, and interest will be charged at the rate of 1.5% per month or fraction thereof.  On-line setups for auto pay should be initiated before the February 1st, May 1st, August 1st and November 1st billing dates for processing to avoid late payment fees.

When a meter fails to register consumption of water, the quantity shall be estimated, and the charge made based upon the previous registration on the meter when it was in working order.
