The City of Middletown accepts various small items for recycling in City Hall. Below is a list of items that are allowed. All items must be segregated. Please note these items cannot go in your recycling cart at home. They can only be recycled if kept separate and brought to the drop off location.
Batteries - These are also accepted at the Recycling Center.
Dunkin Donut Coffee Bags
CFL Bulbs - longer tubes are accepted at the Recycling Center.
CD's, DVDS, cassettes, VHS Tapes in small amounts.
Cell Phones.
Corks - must be real corks, not synthetic ones.
Gerber baby food pouches
Plastic gift cards.
Plastic bags and plastic film - these can also be brought back to Price Chopper, Aldi, or Stop and Shop
Disposable razors - any kind
Little Bites pouches
Oral care products - toothbrushes, empty toothpaste tubes and their packaging. Floss containers.
Office Supplies - non working pens, pencils, markers, tape dispensers, scissors, label backing. An additional office supply recycling box is located at Middletown High School. Please only bring items that are not in working order.
Thermostats - The City partners with the Thermostat Recycling Corporation and accepts thermostats at City Hall in the Public Works Department, Room 210.
COVID NOTE: City Hall is open Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 pm. Residents are welcome to come in with a mask to leave items for recycling.
